New For 2025!

Welcome to Frigus 2025! We are excited to offer some new distances and courses to the race this year. the 60K Ultramarathon is back and the course is fantastic and challenging. It will include 2 laps of the new 30K distance that will run the entire perimeter of the park, with a second lake, and more overlook views from on top of the mountain. It is a beautiful course. the 15K course is largely the same with one minor tweak to make it overlap as much as possible to the 30K. The 4.7 mile will be similar to last year, and will climb to the top of the overlook with the other distances. It is mostly the same but we are just calling what it is, instead of billing it as a 5k as we did in past races.

WHAT

The Endurance Society's annual Snowshoe Festival

Kids Race will be 1 mile loop or out and back
The 4.7 mile will be a single loop with about 750' of gain

The 15k will be a single loop with approximately 2300’ of gain.
The 30K Will be a single loop exploring new trails by extending 15K course and will be approximately 3200’ of gain.
The 60K will be a double loop of the 30K and will be approximately 6400’ of gain.

DETAILS

Bib Pickup will be available 2 hours before the start of the race.
30K , 15K, 4.7 mile and Kids race Distances start at 8:00 AM SATURDAY, February 1th, 2025. 60k will Start at 6 AM, It will be Dark and you will need a light. there will be a 12 hour Cutoff with a 6 hour Cutoff at the 30K mark. Bib Pickup will be available at 5 am, or Friday evening at a time TBD.

All participants will receive a finisher award. The top male and female racers of each distance will also receive awards. Custom Endurance Society Medals and Swag will be given to all finishers Finishers.
SNOW SHOE RENTALS: Snow Shoe Rentals will be available on a first come first serve basis, We typically have a limited number of pairs from Dion. rentals will be an addon question as part of the registration checkout. We will remove the question when rentals are sold out. Moreau lake also has MSR rentals available. These are available directly at the main park office, and would be first come first serve. We do not track their availability.

MANDATORY GEAR: Snowshoes, (it is a snowshoe race). Map of the park for 60K, 30K and 15k (this will be provided, but can also be downloaded from Moreau lake website). Headlamps and glowstick for anyone in the 60K and 30K after 3:00 PM. Sunset is Approximately 5:25.
We will have fires on the beach to keep warm.
Restrooms will be Port-a-John in the parking lot
Hot Food and Aid will be at the Finish line.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

All distances will have the same start and finish, on the beach in front of the nature center.
1 mile Kids Race - For those who want to race with your kids and still participate in the other distances we have that covered. The kids race will start on the same course as the other distances and be a .5 mile out and back.

The 4.7 mile will start on the same course as the other distances and run the first .9 miles before it splits and will rejoin the other distances for the last 1.5 miles.
15K - The 15k course will start and finish the same as the all the other distances. At 2 Miles it will branch off from the 30k and 60K and rejoin at about half way through the 30K course. The 30K and 60K will share the same course and will cover the perimeter of the Park. There will be a limited aid station on the 30K, 60K.
