Welcome to the Butte Buster!
This scenic and relatively flat trail run meanders through oak savannahs, wetlands, and rock outcroppings, including the summit of Little Songer Butte (twice!). Frequent vistas of Emigrant Lake and the Cascade-Siskiyous will surround you on this almost entirely singletrack course.
This is an outstanding event for the novice trail runner or anyone looking to do their first race of more than a 5k....or for the experienced runner that wants a new PR.
The Emigrant Lake trails are a lesser-known system in the Rogue Valley, and this run aims to bring attention to the unique system and need for some modest expansion and maintenance. Our hope is to one-day start this race near the park (a needed 1/2-mile of new trail to bypass the highway is needed) or even do a lake lap sometime in the future. But for now, we promise you will have a blast on this 8-mile course!
