ABOUT THE RACE

BC Backyard Ultra is hosted at Sicamous Public Beach Park in Sicamous, British Columbia and supports the Canadian Championship Series & Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra World Championship.

Before we head into our final year, there’s another pretty special chapter to write.

In October 2026, the BC Backyard Ultra course will welcome Canada’s top Backyard athletes to Sicamous as host of the Canadian Backyard Ultra National Championship. Then, in April 2027, we’ll bring the community back together one last time as BC Backyard Ultra celebrates its sixth and final year.

The trails that make up the BC Backyard Ultra route are within the Traditional Territory of the Southern Secwepemc First Nation. It is a privilege to experience the preservation & beauty of these lands.

The Backyard format is inclusive and gives racers the opportunity to run with community, set a personal record, challenge & lean on one another, and experience an event that brings racers back to home base over and over again…until you meet your own finish line.

On Friday, April 23, 2027, we’ll gather in Sicamous for the sixth and final BC Backyard Ultra.

One last lap. One final yard.

Registration for our final year opens October 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM MST.

BC Backyard Ultra is $185 CDN (+GST & UltraSignup fee).

Participants must be 19 years of age or older on race day.

*AMEX (AMERICAN EXPRESS & DISCOVERY) cards are not accepted methods of payment

Lewiston Ultra Events does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist.

Registration is transferable until 8am on April 9, 2027 for a $20 administration fee. There are no transfers after 8am on April 9, 2027 – no exceptions. Transfer requests can be sent to kara@thelewistonultra.com

Registration will close April 9 @ 8am or when the race fills; whichever comes first.
