All Eyes on Mt Si

Celebrate PNW trail running in lovely North Bend, Washington. North Bend sits at the western gateway to the Cascades and is home to some of the most iconic mountain trails in the Pacific Northwest, including Mt Si.

Race Director Scott and Joe call these mountains home. Scott lives in North Bend, and Mt Si is Joe's favorite mountain to train on. The courses were designed to showcase the terrain that has made this area a destination for hikers, climbers, and trail runners for generations.

Steep climbs, rugged terrain, and a vibrant town and trail community. The Snoqualmie Valley is special. This event exists because of strong community partnerships and a shared belief that mountain running should be challenging, welcoming, and rooted in place.

North Bend Skyline 30k

Date: Sunday, 8am
Distance: 30K, ~6,300ft of elevation gain
$4.5k prize purse + Black Diamond gear awards for king/queen/monarch of the mountain bonus + 2027 Broken Arrow free entries for the fastest man and woman.
Vert Running Series Championship
This race qualifies as a UTMB Index 20K event

As the championship event of the 2026 Vert Running Series, runners self-select into various categories: elite (top-10 hopefuls), masters (45+), and sport (competitive trail runners) divisions.

The Skyline 30K is a true mountain running challenge. Starting beneath Mount Si, runners will tackle steep climbs, technical trails, and relentless vertical gain before returning to the finish line at Trail Fest.

This course doesn't pretend to be easy. It was designed for runners who appreciate big climbs, rewarding descents, and the satisfaction that comes from earning every mile.

Seven dollars from every Skyline 30K registration is donated directly to Recovery Beyond, a nonprofit helping individuals build healthy lifestyles through running, hiking, climbing, and other outdoor pursuits.

Mt Si VK

Date: October 3rd, 10am
Distance: Under 5K
Elevation Gain: 1,000m (3,400ft to be exact!)

Runner versus (uphill) mountain.

The Mt Si VK climbs 1,000 vertical meters in less than 5 kilometers on one of Washington's most recognizable peaks. It is steep, direct, and unapologetically difficult. Good luck running thing whole thing, you probably won't be able to (which is okay!).

Whether you're racing for the win or simply hoping to reach the summit, this event offers one of the purest uphill challenges in the Pacific Northwest. After the race, make your way down the mountain and join us for awards presented in town by Pro Ski and Mountain Service.

Limited to 70 runners.

Little Si 10k

Date: Sunday, 9:30am
Distance: 10K
Elevation Gain: ~1,275 ft

The Little Si 10K was created to ensure everyone has a way to participate in Trail Fest. This shorter course is ideal for first-time trail runners, families, youth athletes, and anyone looking for a shorter mountain adventure. While friendly to beginners, it'll be much harder than your average 10K.

The course starts at Torguson Park with 1.5 miles of road running before climbing onto the Little Si trail system. This section has rocks, roots and some climbing. It's sure to slow you down! Hit the Little Si peak with views of the Snoqualmie Valley before returning to the festival area

Youth Under 20 receive 50% off registration using code "YOUTH2026".

North Bend Double

Three peaks. Two days.

Take on both the Mt Si VK (Saturday morning) and Skyline 30K (Sunday morning) for a weekend featuring over 10,000 feet of climbing on some of the most iconic terrain in Washington.

Limited to 50 runners.

It's a trail fest

On Saturday, the Mt Si VK will finish at the top of the mountain on a rock outcrop. We will lug up some post race refreshments and will reconvene for a post-race meal and awards at Arete Coffeeshop/Pro Ski and Mountain Services in town. In the evening, relax with the North Bend Blue's Walk which starts at 5pm.

At Torgunson Park on Sunday, we create a place for volunteers to unwind, friends and family to cheer, racers to sprawl in the grass, and the community to gather.

Current trail festival experiences include (subject to change):

Trail Family Food Tent: Post race food!
Community gravel ride: The Line Bike Shop will be hosting a community gravel ride from Torgunson Park with bike demos. Great for friends and family!
Climbing wall: Pro Ski & Mountain Service, bring out shoes at the rock wall
Kids race: We will have a short loop around Torgunson Park where kid participants can get their zoomies out. 30 minutes to do as many laps as you want. Sign up online in advance or day of, free!
Inflatable race: A short and sweet race where participants put on inflatable costumes for some controlled chaos. Register on the day of the event, open to the public and free.
Kombucha: We will have kombucha on tap for all to enjoy.
Sponsor activations and demos: Brooks, Salomon, Black Diamond and other brands will be on sight where you can try the newest shoes and gear.

We are working on some additional experiences (sauna, child daycare), and will update the website if those come to fruition. Reach out to us if there is something you'd like to see!

Divisions

All races three gender divisions – Men, Women and Nonbinary categories

Elite
A front-of-pack runner who is a top 10 hopeful. This division is for high-performance, semi- or professional runners, and/or runners hoping to build a competitive resume. There are no requirements to enter the elite field. Do what feels appropriate for you. We would encourage a men's sub 3:30 finishing time, and a women's or nonbinary sub 4:00 finishing time.

Sport
Trail runners who don’t have the time to train like the Elites but want to get out and give it their all.

Masters
45 plus years of age, who still love to compete but are getting tired of those youngsters just nudging them out at the line.

The North Bend Trail Fest is usually one of the most competitive sub-ultra races in the USA, and to elevate the race we offer a $4,500 prize purse as follows.

Overall Elite Top 3 – Men, Women and First place Non-binary – $4500 cash purse ($1000, 300, 200)
King, Queen & Monarch of Vert (fastest to summit) $100 cash each

Nonbinary Athlete Policy
Prize money for elite nonbinary division athletes will be awarded at a level consistent with the men’s and women’s divisions. However, because of the smaller field size and to ensure that prize money is limited to athletes competing at the very highest levels, non-binary athletes must meet the following performance thresholds to be eligible for prize money time limit: Skyline 30k 3:45:00

The Vert Running Series overall top 5 in each division for Elite, Sport, Masters 45+, and Youth Under 20 will receive custom awards and Brooks running gear at Torgunson Park on Sunday.
