Training for the Mamba 100? This is the perfect opportunity to preview the course. The King uses the same Wolf River Trails that you'll run during the Mamba 100, giving you a chance to experience the terrain, learn the trails, and build confidence before race day.

Mamba Course Preview

The King 7 Miler and Half Marathon is the perfect Mamba 100 course preview, using approximately 85–90% of the Mamba 100 loop. Even better, the course runs in the same direction as Mamba, giving you a great feel for what to expect on race day in November. It's a chance to experience the trails in two completely different seasons—summer and fall—and see how the course changes while becoming more familiar with every turn.

Race Information

The King 7 Miler & Half Marathon will take place on the scenic Wolf River Trails, the same trail system used for the Mamba 100. Runners will experience smooth, flowing singletrack trails that are mostly flat, fast, and very runnable through the heart of Memphis.

Whether you're brand new to trail running or a highly experienced runner, this event is designed for all ability levels. With generous cutoff times, fully stocked aid stations, and a fun summer race atmosphere, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the trails, challenge yourself, and build momentum heading into the fall racing season.

Race Day Information

-This is a cupless race, so please bring your own handheld bottle, hydration vest, or another way to carry water.
-All orange ground flags and course markings should be followed with the flags on your RIGHT side.
-There will be two sections of the course where runners will travel in both directions, so you may see flags on both your right and left side. One section will be near the Bridge Aid Station, and the other will be near the large Wolf River Bridge on the Half Marathon route.
-A fully stocked Aid Station will be located around Mile 3.5 of the 7 Mile course. Half Marathon runners will pass fully stocked Aid Stations around Mile 3.5 and Mile 8.5.
-The Start/Finish Line Aid Station will be fully stocked with food, music, cooling towels, fans, ice-cold water, and plenty of race-day energy.
-Please wear your race bib on the FRONT of your body so our photographer can clearly see your bib number and capture your race photos throughout the course.
-All participants will receive a custom finisher medal.

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup is Friday, August 14th from 4-6pm at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead. This is where the start/finish line will be. You can also pick up your bib on race morning but try to get it by 6:30am so we can start the race on time.

Aid Stations

The North Mississippi Endurance crew will be manning a fully stocked Aid Station at Mile 3.7 for all runners. This is where the 7 milers will turn around and head back to the Finish line on the Yellow trail. The Half Marathoners will continue past this Aid Station for about 6 miles, then will hit this same Aid Station again around Mile 9.5.

Please bring a water bottle or wear a hydration vest if you are running the Half Marathon.

Parking will be at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead. When all parking spots are filled, please park on the grass on the backside of the parking lot.

Post Race

Please stick around after the race as we recognize the Top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers along with Age Group Award winners for both race distances.
