About the Event

The Rider Rattler for 2027 brings back all the things you love about the event and a few changes too! Course changes will make the 4-miler come in with over 800ft of elevation, while the 8-miler tops out at 1,400 ft!

As in the past, we will have awards for the top 3 Male and Female finishers for both the 4 and 8-miler.
NEW FOR 2027: Special awards for the TOP male and female 14 & U and 60+ categories for both distances.

You can expect a great post-race meal and Rider Rattler swag with your entry.

New course maps will be posted once available.

Refunds

This event is a rain or shine (or snow!) event. There will be no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers.

Rocksylvania Trail Series

We are excited to partner with the Rocksylvania Trail Series and add both distances to qualifying races for 2027! About Rider Park

Rider Park was a gift of the late Thomas J. Rider, who wanted to share his love of outdoor recreation with the community.

A businessman and civic leader, Mr. Rider believed strongly in a life of community service. The park is a fitting tribute to a man who balanced work with volunteerism and recreation.

Owned and operated by First Community Foundation Partnership, the park is private land made available for public enjoyment.

Kids 14 and Under

Kids 14 and Under AS OF RACE DAY can register at 1/2 the regular registration fee. Please use discount code Trailkids2027 at checkout. Please note** if you have an account, your child either needs to have their own account, or register under "guest". Do not log-in to your account as you can only register the person assigned to the account when logged in.
