Who we are.

Well hello there!! On behalf of TYDISH Running (stands for Tell your Dog I says “Hi”) I’d like to formally greet and thank you for your interest in our event. With close to 4 years of planning we are beaming with joy to FINALLY kick off this historic and Wisconsin proud event. The Kettles are a well loved unit that have taught so many of us how to run, how to suffer and how to heal. It’s a slice of all year round adored magic. She’s definitely fiercely protected as well. If you love something, take care of it. That’s our main goal here. We love it and want to show her off while we raise money for her immense care all done by volunteers. The Ice Age Trail Alliance will be the recipient of all donations made and profits will be divided up with more donations gifted. It’s a team effort and it takes all of us to ensure the land governed by the Wisconsin DNR is treated with the utmost of respect.
We have invited Chase the Sun Running Company to join us on this journey. Carri Compton is a seasoned well respected business owner and a female race director that I admire. Her “yes” when asked to join me was the final piece of this puzzle on the way to a tangible reality.
The idea wasn’t mine, but inspired by a local running legend. We had exchanged emails about his two time 136 mile completion that was the entirety of the Northern and Southern Kettle units. The miles through them are that of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
Initially it was not going to be much more than a soulo attempt, then the lightbulb went off. Our community needed a September event. Two prized Southern Kettle events seized existence and there was an emotional palpable energy of a space needing to be filled. So I started the process.
Surreal for sure that we are here.
Please reach out with any questions at Tydish1150@yahoo.com. We are also on Facebook and Instagram as TYDISH Running.
Thank you again,
Nicole Grey.

A tour.

The Kettle Moraine State Forest is a sweet little section of the Ice Age National scenic trail. Your journey begins one section short of being the full Northern Unit. Once the course is completed upon your arrival to the Fuzzy Pig grounds, your mileage will be roughly 132 miles. The Northern Kettles that are Greenbush, Mauthe Lake and the New Fane sections consist of the more remote and rugged single-track miles. Civilization greets you once into the West Bend area. Upon your travels south you’ll pass through the Middle Kettles that are Holy Hill, Pike Lake and Monches. It’s a mixed section of predominantly single track with a few small road sections. The gorgeousness continues in the pursuit of that finish line as you embark into the Southern Unit. Greeted by city streets of Hartland into Delafield and on to the immersive pines of Scuppernong, you are so close now! *******Please familiarize yourself with these sections by researching them. Information on terrain and elevation changes are abundant.**********
We will host 10 aid stations along the way. Each of them sharing the same goal, to keep you onwards!! Excited volunteers look forward to helping you and your crew on the historic journey. Not all aid stations are open to crew or open after 9pm. Please read the runners guide (emailed to registered athletes) in full detail to help us stay compliant with all else involved. Pacers are allowed one at a time. We will highlight where these pickups and drop offs can occur. Pacers will need to register and sign assigned waivers prior to joining their registered athlete.
You’ll have 48 hours and 46 minutes to complete this course. That’s an average of a 22 minute pace per mile.
Yes, it’s long, but the terrain is not considered overly difficult here roughly 1,000ft above sea level.
It’s doable and YOU CAN do it.
There are only 75 spots available.

Party Next Door (32ish miles)

A party you say?? A party of only 25 that is. Club PND will start in the Southern Unit on the second day of the 125. Saturday September 20th at 6pm you’ll need your reflective wear/night gear and headlamp for the 32 some miles to the finish line. You will have two aid stations available that are also shared with the 125ers. The Southern Kettle Moraine headquarters lot is 10 miles out from Scuppernong to refill and re-snack up. Your second aid station is at Hwy 12/Blackhawk trailhead which is roughly 15 miles out. Then it’s on to the final 7 miles of mixed trail and road to the finish line at the Fuzzy Pig. You’ll come into a nice indoor building with warm food and fresh smiles to greet and congratulate you.
Bus transportation from the Fuzzy Pig to Scuppernong will be available for you. The bus will pick you up and leave at 4:15pm and your job is merely to run back to your car. Easy peasy!!!
You will be given 12 hours to complete this course.
