Leaves, Laps & Poor Life Choices

Yep that title about describes what we have in store for you in this FATA$$ 5 hour event on the FLAT and FAST pristine trails hidden away on the westside of Jacksonville at Sal Taylor Creek Preserve. We will have a 4-5 ish mile out and back loop on well manicured and VERY WIDE trail with little to no sugar sand and well shaded and scenic terrain. Fall in Florida provides some excellent temps after our brutal summer heat and we think this is also a great venue to explore and make some poor life choices with 50 or so Sombrero Runners/walkers!

Its all about the Cause

This event will be a Charity Event and all we ask for donations if able to give with no pressures if not able. We will have a donation box at the event site and ALL OF THE DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO SOMBRERO OUTREACH FOUNDATION! Sombrero Outreach Foundation serves the running and recovery community by sponsoring runners to participate in races they might not be able to otherwise afford and preferable runners that are either in recovery or connected to those in recovery. They also have sponsored runners to participate in events that go directly to recovery related causes and other Jax local running events.

Sombrero Outreach Foundation has sponsored athletes to run the Vero Beach Octopus 100 miler, The Tampa Bay 100 miler, The Daytona 100 miler, and will most likely sponsor a runner or 2 for the Badwater 135 miler in Death Valley next year.

Grateful Giving

Since this event is the week before Thanksgiving, I also wanted to give back to another local recovery organization by donating non perishable food items to them so if you all can bring some items to give back that would be awesome. This is also my way of giving back to our wonderful SOMBRERO NATION with some giveaway items to show my appreciation for your all's support of our events the past 3 years.

Here are some of the items I will be offering up to some lucky participants:

1. 2 Comp Entries into Festivus to distance up to the 50 Miler ( if already registered I will transfer your entry into another event )

2. 2 Comp Entries into YO MOMMA for any distance which is my favorite race of our's that is dedicated to MY MOMMA!!

3. 2 Comp Entries into SURF for any distance!

We will also have our Swag Man Russ Hartzell come up with other FATA$$ giveaways as well!


All of these will be at random and you must still be present at the finish in order to receive your gift.

FOOD, FOOD, AND MORE FOOD

Yep thats right I will be grilling and chilling for you all during and for after the run because, well, its what I do!! Without question I will have BACON, and most likely my chorizo and egg burritos as well as burgers and brats for when you are finished. I will also have plenty of ice cold refreshments as well ( non alcoholic )
