The Groton Forest Trail Run is a fundraising event, with all dollars not used to put on the event donated to local partners Central Vermont Runners, Cross Vermont Trails, the HAM Radio Club, the Groton Ryegate FAST Squad and the Vermont Flood Response and Recovery Fund. This event was created to introduce more people to Groton Forest and to inspire our community, especially our youth, to get active in the outdoors. This event would not have been possible without the generous donations of area businesses. We want to thank Fox Market for supplying the incredible sandwiches, Cabot Cheese for sponsoring our marathon grilled cheese aid station, the Cabot Village Store for their aid station goodies, the Groton/Ryegate FAST squad for being there in the event of injury, the HAM Radio Club for tracking our runners, the Den for some awesome prizes, Burt's Apple Orchard for yummy apples and prizes, the band Wafuzi, Onion River Outdoors for gift cards, and the Central Vermont Runners and the Cross Vermont Trail Assoc. for being key partners. Also, thanks to the State of Vermont for hosting us and a HUGE thanks to all of the tireless volunteers that help make this happen - if you are a runner - thank a volunteer!
