About the event
Join us on the beautiful Sandstone and Caroline Dormon Trail in Kisatchie National Forest for the 10th edition of the Red Dirt Ultra. This rugged trail consist of loose and hard packed sand, stream crossings, climbing and descending, long runnable sections through the long leaf pines and a jaunt alongside the Kisatchie Bayou.
What makes this race so special is the community. The aid stations are manned by experienced ultra runners who know what it takes to get to the finish line! Our volunteers even provide vegan food options at the finish line and at the mid- loop aid station.
PLEASE NOTE: the 50K is actually about 33 miles and the 100K is about 66 miles! The cutoff time for all races is midnight which allows 18 hours for the 100K.
The race director, Fawn Hernandez, was an avid ultra runner and have all participated in Red Dirt before taking over the race! That's how you know you'll be well looked after at the Red Dirt Ultra!
