The Summit 200

616 Recreation Way

Frisco, CO The Summit 200

Registration closes: Fri, Jul 12 @ 11:59 PM MT

Waitlist and Payment Invitations

Waitlisted runners will be sent payment invitations on the morning of April 30. Payment and confirmation must be made within 48-hours or registration will be removed.

The price will increase on May 1st. Anyone looking to register for the cheapest price should sign up (enter the waitlist) prior to that point. Similar to runners that are already waitlisted, you will be sent a payment link on April 30.

The waitlist was incorporated while we were acquiring permits so we could ensure that the race would happen in 2024. Everyone on the waitlist is guaranteed to get into the race on April 30, when registration opens normally.

The Summit 200

The Summit 200 is a dream race for us. The route we have planned is extraordinary in both its beauty and difficulty. Runners would run one 200-mile loop around Summit County, Colorado utilizing numerous stunning hiking trails in the area. They would also run on rec paths, forest roads, and short sections of pavement. The beauty of this course is nothing short of breathtaking. And on the other hand, the route itself will take your breath away…as the LOWEST altitude is over 9000 feet with sections surpassing the 13,000 ft mark. Over the course of the event runners would gain (and lose) around 40,000 ft of elevation.

We are currently working with various permitting agencies in CO to make this dream a reality on 7/22/24. Registration will open on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want in on this epic adventure through the Rockies, save the date, and get in early. We are setting our initial cap at 100 runners in our inaugural year.

We are working diligently and meticulously to make this a premier zero repetition 200-mile mountain race that can be likened to the biggest names (by the best RD’s in the business). We will have all the bells and whistles – sleep stations, amazing aid stations with hot food, killer swag, LIVE GPS tracking, and that personal touch that our runners love about our races. Please follow the Ultraverse Supplements FB page for the latest updates. Updates can also be found on our website at ultraversesupplements.com

The overall cutoff time will be 110 hours (33 minutes/mile).

Refunds & Deferrals

DEFERRAL

Please remember to remove your name from the waitlist should you decide you no longer want to run! Once approval is granted, our deferral policy will go into effect. Our deferral policy for The Summit is as follows.

Prior to approval (April 30 at THE LATEST) – You won’t be charged, so simply withdraw from the race.

We appreciate you all sticking with us and as a result of later than expected approval we have decided to make our deferral policy more (very) lenient. You can see our new deferral policy below.
All credits can be used for any Ultraverse Race

100% credit until 1 month prior to race
75% credit until 14 days prior to race
50% credit until 7 days prior to race
No credit given within one week of the race. DNS if not notified within 3 days.

There are no exceptions to these dates. Requests for exceptions will be ignored. You will withdraw from the race on your own (rather than notifying us to do so). This is done by going into your ultrasignup account and clicking “edit” on the race. Your race credit will be automatically assigned to your account at that time.

There are no refunds (only deferrals). Deferral credit can be used for any Ultraverse Supplements race (not just The Summit).

IMPORTANT RULES AND CONSIDERATIONS

*This is by no means a complete list of rules. Just some that we felt should be highlighted prior to registration. The runner’s manual (when ready) will have a complete list of rules. There are no exceptions to ANY rules, so don’t bother asking. Inquiries made about rules that have already been made clear, will be ignored. The rules are in place for runner safety, fairness amongst runners, and for permitting regulations. Breaking these rules compromises the entire race and will lead to disqualification on the first offense. Breaking rules that compromise runner safety and/or negatively impact permit approval will also result in being blacklisted for all Ultraverse Supplements races indefinitely.

As mentioned previously, this race is still in the approval process. By registering you understand that it is possible that approval won’t happen. In which case, you would incur no charge.

This is a legitimate, high-altitude, mountain race. It is highly recommended that you spend some time acclimating to high altitudes prior to attempting this.

You are required to have a finish of 100-miles or greater to register for this race. If your ultrasignup account shows a record of this, simply register normally. If you have satisfied this requirement outside of ultrasignup, please send us the necessary information to prove your eligibility – race name, RD, and proof that you finished.

There will be long sections (up to 25 miles) without aid. Crew areas will be few and far between – possibly only 3-4 on the entire route. We don’t want to cause tremendous congestion in sensitive permitting areas from crew, therefore only suitable areas will be crew accessible. It is likely that the first crew accessible area will be at least 70 miles into the race to prevent congestion. You will be self-supported for long stretches throughout the race. Comparable races are completed frequently without crew, so consider each crew accessible aid station as a bonus.

You will be required to carry certain things throughout the entirety of this event. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains. You are required to carry a water filter, a rainproof jacket or poncho, a hood or beanie, a long sleeve jacket, gloves, long pants or tights to cover your legs, an emergency/space blanket (or poncho), and a minimum of 1 liter of water carrying capacity. These requirements can change at our discretion, at any time.

You are also required to carry a GPS tracking device (provided by us) and a GPX of the course on your cell phone. You will be required to show us that you know how to use the GPX at check in.

At any point during the race, we can hold runners at an aid station due to weather or potential hazards at our discretion.

No campers, trailers or excessively large vehicles will be allowed at crew accessible areas. Vehicles MUST fit in a standard parking space (9 x 18 ft). Therefore, no vehicles beyond 18 ft will be allowed. Additionally, each runner is allowed ONE crew vehicle at an aid station, no more. There are no exceptions to these rules. Crew must understand these rules and follow them, otherwise they will disqualify their runner.

A more comprehensive list of rules will be included in the runner’s manual.
