Race Overview
This is a point to point race. You will be shuttled from near the finish area to the start line.

Start: 7 am-Whitetop Station
Finish: Sweetbay Brewing Co.- Abingdon, VA
When: Saturday, June 7th 2025
Where: Shuttle leaves from Abingdon Trailhead @ 6am race morning.
This is a great first timers course and a great course to chase down a PR!!!
This is a cupless race! A hydration pack/bottle is mandatory. The race will start from Whitetop the beginning of the Virginia Creeper Trail with 9.8 miles of downhill to the first aid station Taylors Valley. These miles are effortless and offer some of the best views of the national forest. From Taylors Valley you continue downhill for another 6.9 miles to the town of Damascus. From Damascus you will travel to the small town of Alvarado where the aid station is located. Between Damascus and Alvarado there are tales of a magic broken pepsi machine that dispenses magical potions! From Alvarado you will continue to Abingdon Station which marks the end of the Virginia Creeper Trail 55k runners will turn right and finish at Sweetbay Brewing Co.

The race will start from Whitetop Station and run towards the terminus of the Virginia Creeper Trail ( ABINGDON ) . first Aid station in Taylors Valley and then on to Damascus Aid !!! From Alvarado you will continue towards Abingdon Station and then not far from the terminus you will turn around(your pacer can pick you up here) and head back to Alvarado – then head back to the terminus & the 50 Mile runners will turn right and finish at Sweetbay Brewing Co.

Crews are allowed and encouraged but not needed on this well supported course !
Crews can drop you off at the start ( you don’t need to ride a shuttle van) and meet you at various points along the course.

This is a point to point race starting at the infamous yeti Pepsi machine and ending in Abingdon’s new Meadows complex ! This is a great distance for all trailrunners !

Race Insurance
Race insurance is available on checkout or you may return and purchase up until Jan 1st 2025. Unlike other BS insurance companies. 50% of registration fee is returned up to 45 days from race day. (no information required for insurance refund) Less than 45 days out from race date -no refunds will be processed.
