READ THIS BEFORE YOU ASK WHY YOU ARE ON A WAITLIST
12/12 update!
We have opened up 50 spots in each race. When we get closer, we will open up more if/when state & federal guidelines allow. No fees will be charged until you are invited into the event.
We anticipate at least 100 spots in each race. Participants will be added in the order they registered. If/when you get pulled off the wailist, you will get an email from ultrasignup. Follow the instructions in that email. Thanks for bearing with us.
There will be lots of changes this year to pull this off. Wave starts, no communal food, masks required at the start, more to be communicated as we get closer to race day.
Summary
The Traprock course is a loop course of approximately 10.5-11 miles per loop. There will be two races (one (17k) and three loops (50k)). It is a rolling course with 50% technical single track on the Metacomet Trail. The balance of the course is double-track.
Consisting entirely of rolling forest roads or single track that can be extremely rocky, the course will provide a true test of the runner’s fitness and mental stamina. You should only consider entering this race if you are confident you have sufficient running experience such as having completed a recent road or trail marathon. If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to complete this race but would still like to enter, please contact the race director.
Waitlist
Once the race is at capacity, the waitlist will automatically start. Runners selected from the waitlist will get an email that they have been selected, and will have THREE days to respond before we move to the next name and cancel that invitation.
Shirts
No shirts for 2021. Sorry.
NO CUPS
To help reduce waste and costs, we are a cupless race. Please plan to bring your own cup or handheld bottle to use throughout the day. We will not even have them for soda. No cups. At all.
Chip Timing
The 50k will be chip timed, the 17k will be old school clipboard and a stopwatch style. We're working on a budget folks.
Race Proceeds
Race proceeds will go to a variety of local organizations, including the Simsbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association. They will also go to the CT Trailmixers Shoe Scholarship Program, which gives free shoes to kids in need who want to run cross-country or track in school.
