Welcome to Spaulding Woods
A trail race run on the grounds of Spaulding Academy & Family Services, on a landscape used year-round for outdoor programming and outdoor education.

The Spaulding Woods 50K takes place on Saturday, July 11th at 8:00 AM in Northfield, NH.
Five 10K loops on a technical singletrack trail system featuring rocks, roots, footbridges, and steady short climbs and descents.
The looped format keeps runners close to the start/finish area with a well-stocked aid station, midpoint water station, portable toilets, and personal drop bags available at the end of each lap. It creates a race that is easy to navigate logistically while keeping runners immersed on the trails throughout the day.
A Shared Place, A Shared Purpose
The race takes place on the grounds of Spaulding Academy & Family Services, a nonprofit supporting children and young adults through education, therapeutic care, and outdoor-based programs designed to build confidence, resilience, and independence.
Many of the trails used on race day are part of the same landscape where Spaulding’s outdoor programs take place. It’s a setting built for challenge, growth, and time outside, shared by the local community, the athletes on race day, and the youth who spend time here.

Race Details
The race begins on the Spaulding Academy & Family Services campus, located at 72 Spaulding Rd, Northfield, NH, at 8:00 AM on Saturday, July 11th. Bib pickup is available race morning from 6:45–7:45 AM.
Runners will have a ten-hour time limit to complete the race. There is a strict 8-hour cutoff to begin the 5th and final loop. Any runner not starting their 5th loop by 4:00 PM will not be permitted to continue.
To minimize the race’s impact on the trail system, pacers are not allowed. This is a cupless event, so please bring your own refillable water containers.
For safety reasons, animals (including dogs), drones, strollers, and bikes are not allowed. The use of headphones is discouraged.

Just minutes off I-93, the Spaulding Woods 50K is one of the most accessible trail ultras in the region. Many runners arrive the morning of the race, while others opt to stay nearby for a relaxed race weekend in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. To balance flexibility for runners with the realities of organizing a small, limited-capacity trail event, we offer the following cancellation options:
Cancellation & Deferrals
Cancel by April 1: 100% of your entry may be deferred to the following year
Cancel by June 1: 50% of your entry may be deferred to the following year
After June 1: no deferrals or credits are available
Deferred entries apply only to the following year and are not transferable beyond that.
Cash refunds are not offered.
