Kat'cina Mosa 100K — 2026 Event Update

We regret to share that the Kat’cina Mosa 100K will not be able to take place this year.

This decision was not made lightly. Due to health challenges currently being faced by Race Director John Bozung, along with low registration numbers, we are unable to hold the event this year. While John Maack has assumed Race Director responsibilities for the Snow Peaks 50 Mile race, another event founded by John Bozung, the limited timeframe and logistical considerations involved do not allow enough time to properly organize the Kat'cina race for 2026.

Over the coming months, we will be evaluating the future of the Kat'cina race and exploring possible revisions to the event format, distances, permitting, and logistics moving forward.

We sincerely appreciate the support this race community has shown over the years and hope to continue the Kat'cina tradition in the future. Please keep an eye out for updates regarding a possible return in 2027.

Course

A VERY, VERY challenging, difficult and scenic loop course through the Wasatch Mountains above Provo, Utah. About 42% will be on the same course as the Squaw Peak 50, but in the opposite direction. These sections are Mile 2.1, Pole Heaven to mile 16.27, Rock Canyon and mile 24, just past Big Springs to mile 38.5 - Little Valley. The trail will be flagged just as well as the SP run. It will consist of - 48% dirt trails, 44% dirt roads and 8% paved. Elevation gain is over 15,000 feet and loss is 15,000 ft. 11,000 FEET OF ELEV. GAIN BY MILE 28.5 IN 3 SEPARATE CLIMBS. THEN THE LAST HALF ONLY HAS ABOUT ANOTHER 3,000 FEET OF CLIMB
