THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Introduction

Dear Runners, I regret to inform you that the 2020 Potawatomi Trail Runs have been cancelled.

Governor Pritzker announced cancellations of events of 250 or more people effective immediately through May 1. I therefore lost my permit to hold the race.

POT has 300 registered runners and usually has another 200 in crew, pacers, spectators and aid station workers.

I tried to get creative; considered cancelling certain distances and banning all non essential personnel, but couldn't come up with a fair way.

This is all new to me as an RD, with no history to reference. POT has never been cancelled in the prior 20 years.

Over the next few days, I will figure out what the future looks like; alternate race date, virtual, deferrals, ect.

A refund is simply not possible. Most of the entry fees are in my barn in the form of shirts, cups, jackets, hats, glasses, buckles and metals.

On a personal note, this sucks. Many of you have trained all winter. Logging tons of miles in preperation for POT. I am sorry. My promise to all of you is that Potawatomi Trail Runs will be back next year, better than ever.

Course Description

The course is a 10 mile loop consisting mostly of single track dirt, some prairies, several creek crossings, and endless rolling hills. Elevation gain per 10 mile loop is 1600 feet.
