Welcome to the 22nd year of the Potawatomi Trail Runs. Let's come back stronger than ever!

Course Description

The course is a 10 mile loop consisting mostly of single track dirt, some prairies, several creek crossings, and endless rolling hills. Elevation gain per 10 mile loop is 1500 feet. Mother Nature controls the creeks; your feet may stay dry but probably not. It is not uncommon to see deer, turkey, birds, owls, and other critters. We will keep you well fed and hydrated along your journey with aid stations at mile 3, 6, and the start/finish.

**headlamp required for all races**
The 200 miler starts at 4 PM, Thursday.
The 150 miler starts at noon on Friday.
The 100miler starts at 6 AM on Saturday.
50 miler is NOW FRIDAY April 9 at 6AM

The 30 miler is a night run Saturday the at 7PM
The 10 mile fun run is Friday, at 7PM.

ATTENTION: 200 MILERS; Aid Stations officially open Friday at 6AM in conjunction with the 50 miler start. When the race starts Thursday, basic hydration & nutrition will be provided but plan accordingly for that first night.

Early start options are available to those who feel they may not make the cutoffs. They are NOT for those who don't like running at night, have other commitments race weekend or have friends doing other distances.
You must start at one of the predefined times listed above and are not eligible for podium awards. Yes, you still get your finishers buckle/award.

All participants will receive a shirt and finishers medal.
50,100,150 &200 mile finishers receive buckles.

150 & 200 mile finishers get a jacket upon completion
NOTE...this has changed from a participation jacket to a finishers jacket so pick your distance wisely.

Primitive tent camping is available at no charge starting at noon Thursday. -No power or running water. We will have a group fire (no individual fires). Camping is in a field you run past each loop. No assigned spots, first come/serve. Most runners use their tent as "home base". Some use their car but this is off course and requires walking to it.
Campers may have camp stoves, propane, ect but not generators ( for the courtesy of your neighbors).
Power for charging electronics is available at the main A/S.

*Porta potties on-site.

You must sign a waiver, trail running can be dangerous. No guns, fireworks, swimming, alcohol or anything else the Park District doesn’t allow. Be aware that these are public trails, you may encounter other hikers, horses, frisbee golfers, ect..
**NO REFUNDS, transfer or exchanges of any kind. A significant amount of time and resources have been invested already so come RUN! If you can’t run come cheer on runners from an aid station.

COVID- all 2020 entries will have free entry for 2021. You must re-register, you will not be automatically entered.

If 2021 race is cancelled for COVID, runners will have the option to enroll in the 2022 race free of charge until March 1, 2021. If the race is cancelled after March runners will be given 70% off 2022 enrollment. The reason behind this is sunken costs. By March permits, insurance, swag & rentals have been purchased and are non-refundable.

PACERS/CREW/SPECTATORS - Due to COVID we are limiting the number of people in the park. Each runner may bring a +1. You may change out your +1 but the original helper must leave.

As COVID restrictions lessen, we will allow additional support people giving priority to the longer distances.
