Birmingham Stage Race

1214 81st St S,

Birmingham AL 2 Day Stage Race, 3 Day Stage Race

About the Stage Race

The Birmingham Stage Race will be held on three distinctly different mountains, on three consecutive days, in Birmingham, Alabama. The first stage is on Ruffner Mountain, starting at the Nature Preserve. Stage 2 is at Red Mountain Park. Stage 3 is at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham. The three mountains are within a 15 minute drive from the Thursday afternoon Package Pickup location at Mountain High Outfitters Store in Cahaba Village next to Whole Foods on Hwy 280.

The Stage Race will be a total of 56 very demanding miles. Stage 1 and 3 are primarily on single track trails and some of these trails are very technical with a few very steep. Stage two at Red Mountain is a bit more relaxed with gentle trails and no difficult climbs. Some of the trails used at Oak Mountain had never been used in a race until the 2013 stage race.

We have added a Two Day Stage Race on Saturday and Sunday for those that cannot make the Friday Stage. Runners may also enter any single stage but will not be eligible for awards. Single day registration is available at Ultrasignup. You will need to select the 2 or 3 day race option, then go the "add-on" page and choose the "Single Stage for $45. Click on "Next," and delete the 2 or 3 day Stage Race you selected at the beginning before checking out. Check out and you will only pay for the single stage. You may also use the printable registration form found on the website or register at late registration Thursday afternoon.

Deadline to get a STAGE RACE SHIRT is 9/7

We will be providing race shirts with all Stage Race Registrations received before September 8th. If you want a race shirt you MUST sign up on or before September 7th to be assured of getting one.
