We have had a few great questions that I want to ensure everyone can see
Will the finisher sweatshirts be available for pickup at Fleet Feet? Yes, the sweatshirts will be on the mountain on Saturday the 21st and then available for pickup at FF on the 22nd.
Do you have a link to a strava course? Here is a link to the loop on Strava - Link to Strava
If we run on Nov 21 when there will be a marked course, are we required to run the marked course? The answer is No. We will be marking the course to be run on Nov 21 but you can run any Dizzy course or configuration that you choose. We will start a clock at 8am but you can start at any time.
In 2016 we ran the old course for the last time. In 2017 we updated the course and ran it in one direction. In 2018 we ran it in the opposite direction. In 2019 we switched it again. In 2020, you can run it in any configuration you please!
Due to the pandemic and the CDC's recommendations to help control the spread of the coronavirus, many races have been canceled or have gone virtual. We are offering a race in a way that can continue to follow the guidelines but also give you the ability to get out on race day if you so choose. We ask that you practice social distancing and do what is necessary to keep yourself as well as those around you safe and healthy if you decide to participate in this event.
Date: You can run the race at any time starting Sunday November 1, 2020 until Monday November 30, 2020.
Location: The Pavilion adjacent to the Park Office of the Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL.
Registration: Register online here. Registration will close October 31. No paper or race day registration. No refunds. No transfers..
Packet Pick Up: No need for packet pick up this year.
Cutoff: No cutoffs. Just do the 31 miles at your pace
Swag: Once you complete the 31 miles and you send me your time and picture having fun out on the course, I will get you a cool Dizzy pullover sweatshirt!
Course: Run your own dizzy with an unmarked course. See below for help. If you need ideas to make the course unique, email me and I can give you some ideas
Saturday Nov 21: On the original race day, there will be a clock and some water bottles at the pavilion. If you choose, and you adhere to all social distancing guidelines, you can line up at 8am and run the course. It will not be chip timed. You can run the course in any direction you choose. You will still be responsible for sending me your time and picture on the course. The clock and water will be picked up at 4pm, the normal cutoff time. You can remain on the course as needed. Please adhere to all Monte Sano park rules related to being on the trails and in the park at or just before dark.
What if I get lost and take a wrong turn: This is Dizzy! The idea is that someone always gets lost. Just ensure that your watch says 31 miles or more before you quit!

You must take your own Dizzy pic and post it to Run256 facebook group or send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
For 2020 ONLY - You can run any configuration of the course you like. You must run 3 loops and you must do them consecutively without stopping. A loop is the combination of the north loop and the south loop. You can do them in any order. See the course from pervious years to help you understand running forwards or backwards, etc. If you are old school, pull up the old Jeff Kyser course and run that bad boy (do you even know what a little loop is?!!!).
