Run, jog, hike or walk, or crawl you have up to 30 hours to do your best ! 30 hours and 100 miles or more
Welcome to the gateway of New England Running! The 30 Hour / 100 mile race, will take place on Saturday, June 25TH with a start time of 8:30 AM and run to Sunday, June 26TH ending at 2:30 PM or 30 Hours. Run, jog, hike, walk or crawl; go, as long as, you wish: 26.2, 50K, 50M, 100K ,100 MILES or more, it's up to you. Great way to train yourself for a Fall Ultra, like the Centurion 24 hour or VT100. There will be a packet pickup between 3PM and 6PM, at the Forest Pavilion, on Friday 24TH; at this time or early on Saturday Morning (25TH) you can choose a place to store gear to be used during the race and for a "rest and recuperation station" in an adjacent field for use in your 30 hour endeavor, (NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night) . Access to your vehicle will, also be nearby, as you loop, through the day and night. There will be an award for first to fifth overall with the most amount of miles in the 30 hours. An incredible buckle will be given at no additional charge to all those achieving 100 miles in the 30 hours, but that does not win the race; it is most miles achieved in 30 hours. One Pacer is allowed per runner at a time at a cost $50 for 12 hours (start time 2:30AM Sunday) and $25 for 6 Hours (8:30AM to race end 2:30PM (multiply runners can change off, however only one Pacer at a time (one charge fits all); they must register and sign the waiver, this allows them to hydration, food and insurance coverage, etc., pay at pavilion in hours just before 12or 6 knowing the goal is within reach. Pacers must check in for a Pacer wristband. Anyone using a unauthorized Pacer WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from the race! Pizza will be served around noon, dinner around 5:30pm and breakfast at 8;30AM, Sunday (Pacers, too). On average, the course has roots and rocky terrain with one larger hill (OMG), that is very doable, so 2.22 miles times 45 loops gets you a fantastic buckle ! Only 50 slots (sunject to change). In the past there were, as many as, 15 recipients for the outstanding buckle, this in 85 degree weather and 75% humidity. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Roosevelt Forest Commission and EMS and is part of the Roosevelt Forest Ultra Trail Race Series. A buckle would be EPIC, this 4th of July, but you have be bold. Are you in?
