Tails 'n Trails Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, and 1 Mile Walk

Start Time: 8:00 a.m. for the Half Marathon 8:05 a.m. for the 10K 8:10 a.m. for the 5K 8:15 a.m. for the 1-mile walk
Registration opens on December 1, 2023 at 12:00 a.m.
ONLY REGISTER ONE PERSON PER REGISTRATION (or it causes issues with our timing system) PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER MULTIPLE PEOPLE UNDER ONE REGISTRATION!

Capacity: We have a limit of 350 participants total for all distances combined. Packet pickup at Fleet Feet Omaha on April 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and race day packet pickup will be at Chalco Hills Recreation Area starting at 7:00 a.m.
Courses
The trails at Chalco Hills are wide trails, a lot of straight-a-ways and no tight turns or switchbacks. Rolling hills with no terribly steep climbs, but the elevation gain does add up. About 80% trail, some pavement and “big rock” (gravel). These trails are used for cross country in the area so they are challenging, yet fun!
Runner FAQ's
What shirts will be provided?
Our shirts are unisex, short sleeve and 35/65 blend.
Will there be chipped timing?
Yes! Tails ‘n Trails is chip timed! PLEASE only register one person per registration, or it causes issues with our timing system. PLEASE do not register multiple people under one registration.
I signed up, but now I can’t run this event; can I get my money back?
No refunds will be issued.
Will this event be cancelled due to weather?
Only if conditions are considered extremely dangerous (severe lightning). Announcements will be made via the Tails ‘n Trails Facebook page.
Can I run with a stroller?
Due to the nature of the trail (mowed grass, dirt) running with a stroller is not advised.
Can my kids run?
Yes! Kids are welcome to run if registered. Ages 5 and under can participate in the 1 mile walk for free with a registered adult 18 years and older. Any kids running/walking other distances will need to register for liability reasons–no exceptions.
Race Transfers (“I signed up for the half marathon, but I want to run the 10K instead,” etc.)

Dog FAQ's
Can I bring my dog?
YES! Your best friend is welcome to this race! All dogs (and their people) must be physically capable of participating. Older dogs or dogs unaccustomed to extensive exercise, other dogs, or large crowds will probably be happier at home.
Do I need to have my dog on a leash?
YES! For the safety of all 2 and 4-legged participants, ALL dogs must be a on a leash at least 6 feet long. Retractable leashes are NOT allowed
Are all breeds welcome?
Yes! All breeds are most welcome.
Will you supply water for my dog?
YES! We will have community style water at the start/finish as well as at each aid station.
Can I bring more than one dog?
The rule is one dog to one runner. However, please contact the race director for special permission to bring two dogs.
