| The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run has been held since 1986. It is one of the original five 100-mile races and is a point-to-point course between Wrightwood and Altadena, with elevations ranging from 1,135 to 9,300 feet. The race has maintained its original course over the years, making it one of only six point-to-point 100 milers in the United States. Runners who participate in this race will cover 100 miles of the San Gabriel mountains, encountering steep climbs and rocky terrain along the way.
AC100 is not easy but every finisher knows that the journey is worth it. The San Gabriel backcountry provides a stunning backdrop for the race and the course presents a challenge. For those who are up to the challenge, the 35th Annual AC100 offers an opportunity to test their limits. The training runs and trail workdays leading up to the race are just as important as the race itself, providing a chance to build friendships and improve the trails we all enjoy.
Preparing oneself physically and mentally for the race is crucial, but the experience of running through the high alpine ridges of Baden Powell, the rocky trails of the high country, the deep canyons surrounding Mt. Wilson and the Mt. Wilson Climb itself makes it all worth it. Despite the immense challenge, there are special moments to be found in this race. Take the time to savor them and make the most of this unique experience. If you're interested in taking on this challenge, mark your calendar for the 35th Annual AC100, which will be held on August 2, 2025. | | | | |
