Mass Extinction Endurance Challenge 2024!
M.E.E.C 2024. The race will start at 7 AM at the roundabout near 8106 Calvin Hall Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29707. We are trying to bring a fun and exciting challenge. Our goal is to provide an experience unlike any other in the Carolinas. The Mass Extinction Endurance Challenge is as it says on the tin. It is a challenge, less a race. How long can you beat the clock? The course is a 1.1-mile loop featuring a mix of roads and grassy trails. Each loop has a descending time limit beginning at 16:00 minutes and dropping 10 seconds per loop thereafter. This format allows for everyone to get to know each other and swap stories for the first few miles. Also, it allows for people to challenge themselves with personal goals for distances they may never have covered before. Come out and join us for a fun event unlike any other. There is a single aid station at the start/finish of each loop that will feature classic ultra food along with options that cover most dietary requirements. Everyone starts each loop together and must arrive back at the start/finish line within that loop's time allotment. The direction of the loop is up to my whim. When we get down to the last few runners, the first person back to the start will choose the direction for the remaining runners. Loop times are as follows

Awards
Hand made "trophies" (crafted by me with all the art skill of a 3rd grader) will be given out at the half marathon-ish distance marathon-ish distance to comemporate your efforts, marathoners will also get a Mass Extinction Elimination Challenge hat. The last female and last male survivors will be awarded possibly nicer trophies and a free race entry to a future event.
