Firebird Trail Race is a tough trail event, run on donations, positive vibes, with a 13M & 50K crushing course in Cumberland, Maine.
Our goal with this race is to build community and accomplish great feats together, helping each other finish a grueling task, for the first time or the millionth time.
Unlike other races, to get in you must donate to a non-profit of your choice in addition to paying the low cost registration fees! Runners must donate to a non-profit of your choice within a year before the race then send us a receipt to confirm entry. We would appreciate donations of at least $40, with a $20 minimum required.
- 50K - 7:30 AM
- 13 Miler - 8:00 AM
We're still planning on holding the races as planned in person on September 18th, 2021, although we will be incorporating a number of safety precautions for volunteers and runners which includes a 100 person cap. This is subject to change due to CDC regulations but we feel strongly that this event will continue as planned. Please see our Facebook page for more info.
It's technical and challenging, with lots of rocks and roots on mostly single track trail. The course is largely on the Cross-Falmouth Trail from Windham, Maine to Falmouth, Maine. The course will be marked with pink ribbon and white chalk. *The 2021 course will likely make a few changes from prior years due to private land use, official course will be set by January 2021*.

The course will be well-marked with orange pin flags, "WRONG WAY" signs, and arrow signs. Three orange pin flags indicate a TURN and arrow signs will be at critical turns. One pin flag and/or pink ribbon, every 1 - 2 minutes of running will indicate that you are ON COURSE.
