Description
The Seven Sisters 25k is a monstrous mountain of a run around the East and West ridges of the Montreat Wilderness! This route is a Western North Carolina classic, but it will be the first time it will be held as a race. Although short in distance, this route will leave you in awe at its beauty and its difficulty.
The route passes over multiple peaks and overlooks including; Lookout Rocks, Rocky Head, Graybeard, Rattlesnake Rocks, and of course the Seven Sisters themselves along the treacherous West Ridge Trail. Come prepared to run this beast!
Prior Trail Running Experience Required to Participate!

Distance: 25 Kilometers....ish (15ish miles)
Elevation Gain: ~4,000 ft
Percentage Trail: ~95%
Time Limit: 5 hours
Aid Stations: Miles ~4 (10:20am cutoff) & ~8 (11:40am cutoff)
Race Rules
Stay on marked trails, DO NOT CUT SWITCHBACKS!
Must carry required gear at all times.
Use proper trail etiquette when passing other runners
Be courteous to other trails users
No littering
Obey any race official's request
Need to Know
You must carry required gear. This includes a rain shell, at least a 20oz water carrying device, a whistle, cell phone, and an emergency blanket.
-No parking at the start, you'll be parking at designated sites close by.
-The start/finish area is a third of a mile walk from parking and your car.
-This is a cupless race!
Packet Pickup
Pre-Packet pickup will be held at Vertical Runner in downtown Black Mountain from 4pm-7pm on Friday, April 16th. Please pick up your packet early, however, we will have race day pickup from 7:30-8:50am race morning.
Lodging
If coming in from out of town, the best place is to stay in Montreat at the Assembly Inn just a short walk from the start of the race! The Assembly Inn has limited rooms so book fast. More info can be found here: https://montreat.org/events/spring-sabbath
Awards
Top 3 male/female will receive a hand made award from a local artist.
All finishers will receive a finishers award.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be granted minus $20 up to 60 days before the event. After this time, no refunds will be given. We do not allow transfers or deferments in any case at any time.
If the race needs to be canceled for any reason (unforeseen acts of nature or COVID), the race will be run virtually "Tanawha style" (aka on the actual course, not anywhere). Please plan your calendar accordingly. No refunds, transfers, or deferrals will be given in the case of race moving to virtual.
