About the Race
We call it The Stevest.
Start Time: Race will start at 8am. If you happen to run late and still want to start, we are fine with that. Please check in at the tent. Be aware that the race will still end at 6pm, regardless of when you start and you MUST start your third loop by 3pm.
Swag: You get to run on the trails. Water. Beer. (~2 Tecates)
Length: 3 Laps of the RRT trail. Lap is around 14 miles. Your gps could said it’s 10 miles or it could say it’s 16 miles. Don’t trust it.
Elevation gain: ~3100’
Course Description: Consists almost entirely of single track through the woods and along Rocky River with a few ups and downs. Typical east coast trail: roots, rocks, snakes, poison ivy, bigfoot, etc., nudity is discouraged.
THE COURSE OF THE RACE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME LEADING UP TO AND THE DAY OF THE RACE. THE COURSE IS THE SOLE DISCRETION OF RACE HOLDERS AND STEVE.
Aid: Water at Start/Finish and at 6ish mile mark with some additional race snacks provided at the Start/Finish area. If you need something specific for personal dietary requirements, please bring it. As the parking area is next to the Start/Finish, you have quick access to your car to change or gather additional belongings between loops. It is encouraged you provide your own hydration pack/ water bottle for this run. Gets hot and muggy in July.
Restrooms: Lots of woods out there, but our crowds have gotten bigger so we will have a porta john at the Start/Finish.
Parking: dirt/grass lot at start/finish
Reward: 1971 Plymouth GTX submerged in real river water in a real Mason Jar to top Male and Female finishers. There are no finisher medals/buckles/tokens/ribbons/trophies/cups/plates/hats/money/etc., just a solid level of respect.
Rules: Don’t cheat, just stay on the trail, don’t be that guy/gal. If you get lost it’s on you. This trail is also used by mountain bikers, so please be respectful and mindful of other people not in the race. Headphones are fine, but once again, be aware of your surroundings. Please check in at the registration tent before starting each loop and if you decide to quit, please alert the registration table of your failure.
Why: Why not?
You are not guaranteed your shirt size for those registering after July 1st. You'll get a shirt, just maybe not your size. They make great dusting towels or for cleaning up the Tecate you knocked over.
