The Traprock course is a loop course of approximately 10.5-11ish miles per loop. There will be two races: one loop for the 17k and three loops for the 50k. It is a rolling course with 50% technical single track on the Metacomet Trail. The balance of the course is double-track.
Consisting entirely of rolling forest roads or single track that can be extremely rocky, the course will provide a true test of the runner’s fitness and mental stamina. You should only consider entering this race if you are confident you have sufficient running experience such as having completed a recent road or trail marathon. If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to complete this race but would still like to enter, please contact the race director.
50k starts at 830am,.17k at 930am.
9 hour cutoff on the 50k.
Once the race is at capacity, the waitlist will automatically start. Runners selected from the waitlist will get an email that they have been selected, and will have TWO days to respond before we move to the next name and cancel that invitation. People are selected from the waitlist in the order in which they registered - first on / first off.
Do you want to know where you are on the waitlist? Click on "Waitlist" above, and look for your name.
To help reduce waste and costs, we are a cupless race. Please plan to bring your own cup or handheld bottle to use throughout the day. We will not even have them for soda. No cups. At all.
We'll have it back for 2024!

About the CT Trailmixers
Traprock is put on through the CT Trailmixers. The CT Trailmixers are a trail running club based in central Connecticut. Our members are passionate about sharing Connecticut’s many wonderful trails with friends and visitors. For more information on the CT Trailmixers, visit www.cttrailmixers.com. We are a non-profit, and all 100% volunteers - all club proceeds are reinvested in a variety of charitable causes.
Race proceeds will go to a variety of local organizations, including the Simsbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association. They will also go to the CT Trailmixers Shoe Scholarship Program, which gives free shoes to kids in need who want to run cross-country or track in school.
There will be no changes to the course from 2023. The power line hill stays, sorry/not sorry.
