Welcome to the 40th Running of Dick Collins Firetrails!
Join us as we continue the tradition of Dick Collins Firetrails. When you step up to the start at Firetrails, you are stepping into history, one that winds back to when Dick Collins was the race director. Dick is a legend in these parts. He's remembered on a bench near the turnaround for the 50-mile race, in the camp below Skyline Gate
When you race here, you also stand on the shoulders of giants. Perhaps none are greater than those of course-record-holder Ann Trason, who directed this race for many years and who considered Dick Collins a mentor.
Dick Collins Firetrails is now made of 3 events: Firetrails 50, the Dinosaur Ridge 30k, and The Golden Hills Marathon.
UTMB: Both Dick Collins Firetrails races are UTMB Index races. The Firetrails 50 counts as a 100k event and Golden Hill Marathon counts as a 50k event for UTMB purposes.
P-USATF Grand Prix: The Firetrails 50-mile race is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix.
The Courses
There are some exciting course changes in 2023. The races return to Lake Chabot Marina, which is the 'classic' start and finish location. The first part of the course goes out-and-back on Dinosaur Ridge before returning to Anthony Chabot Park. For full information on the courses with maps, elevation profile, crew directions etc visit our website Click on COURSE at the top of the page.
