AUGUST 11 UPDATE: We have an approved, revised, course as the Pipeline Fire has done significant damage to portions of the north eastern portion of the course. The map below is the current, updated route.
Our 50 mile distance will start and finish at the Hotshots Camp near the base of Snowbowl road. Runners will head northeast on the power line Trail towards Snowbowl Ski Resort before heading north on the gorgeous Arizona Trail (AZT) and experiencing a new area including a challenging and scenic summit climb to Saddle Mountain.
50 Km Distance
Our 50 Km distance will start and finish at the Hotshots Camp once again but this time will utilize a new route, heading out on the Powerline Trail northeast as you hop back on the Arizona Trail climbing up to the base of the Snowbowl area where you'll continue on miles of gorgeous Aspen groves to your turn around point at Deadman's Aid.
26 Km Distance
The Flagstaff Sky Peaks 26K joins the Golden Trail World Series for 2022 and will feature some of the top trail runners in the world going head to head on the volcanic edge of the San Francisco Peaks. Runners will climb for the first 6 miles climbing from the base of Agassiz Peak to the slopes of Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort. Then the real climbing begins as runners will ascend nearly 2,000 feet in the next mile, topping out just over 11,500 feet, before bombing down the western slopes of the ski resort, through winding single track under aspen groves and eventually onto the iconic Arizona Trail which spans 800+ miles from Mexico to Utah. If your quads aren’t toast at this point, the 5+ mile descent to the finish line should help seal the deal!
12 Km Distance
The 12K will now include a fun and challenging out and back course on the Arizona Trail, climbing nearly 900 feet in elevation before turning around for a speedy descent to the finish, cheering on your friends and competitors alike as you fly by!
