Welcome to the 2022 Dizzy Fifties!
Hello everyone and welcome to the 2022 Dizzy Fifties 50K trail run. This is my first official year as race director. I am excited to take over the race from Ryan Chaffin and hope to keep the race as fun as he has in the past. This is a great course for a first time 50K runner or for seasoned ultra runners as well. There will be some modifications to the course this year as I am hoping to make the course more fun and also allow for the runner to pass the pavilion twice during each loop like it was before the switch to the new pavilion. The course will still be 3 loops starting from the biker pavilion. More details will be posted when the official changes have been determined and approved. I look forward to seeing everyone on race day.
Packet pickup at Fleet Feet Friday 11/18 from 12-6pm.
Race day Saturday 11/19 at 7am at the Bikers Pavilion.
The 2022 50k will start and finish at the new bikers pavilion. The course will utilize a lot of the same trails as the previous races but will include some changes to facilitate runners being able to access the pavilion twice on each loop. I am trying to bring this back as it is ideal for first time 50K runners and for runners that like to bring their own aid. With the course change we will also reduce elevation on one side and add some on the other so that the south loop is not flat. Total elevation gain should be similar to previous courses. I will post a map of the new course as soon as it is available. The cutoff will still be 9 hours as in previous years.
Pete Schreiner will be out on the course taking pictures this year! You can check him out @schreinertrailphotography on Instagram!
2022 course map from Strava below. Course is 3 loops just over 10 miles each. I added one climb and removed one climb from previous years. Total elevation is around 3000 feet.
The total cutoff time will be 9 hours or 4pm.
