Lost Soul Ultra

320 Scenic Dr S

Lethbridge, AB 100 Mile, 100K, 50K

This Event Took Place Sat. Sep 9, 2023

Event Info

The race is held in the Oldman River valley of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. We appreciate that we are gathered on the lands of the Blackfoot people of the Canadian Plains and shared with the Cree and Metis. Our trails run near one of the last big battles between the Blackfoot and Cree. One lap is 50 km with approximately 1,100 m (3,600') of elevation change. Most of the hills will be in the range of 50-80m (150-250') in size and you will hit about 14 of those in one lap.

Two events start on Friday morning:
- 100 mile (33-hour cutoff completing 3 laps + an extra 11k loop)
- 100 km (21-hour cutoff completing 2 laps.
Note: The 100 km event is a qualifying event for the Western States Endurance Run (WSER). In addition, 100 mile racers can earn a WSER qualification if they finish the first 100km under 21 hours.

The 50 km event starts on Saturday morning (11-hour cutoff completing one lap).

The toughest race on the prairies (and voted “best aid stations in the universe”). Finishers receive an etched rock.

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age on race day.

New Course (Adjustments 2024)

Headquarters and the Start/Finish will be at Softball Valley. We have removed the old "South Loop" Leg 1 and the course is split into 5 legs. The new Leg 1 will have you leave from Softball Valley, south along the river, and at the Highway 3 bridge, you will now cross the bridge to West Lethbridge. This section will be "rain-friendly" and most of it is on the limestone and shale pathways. Leg 1 will then take you back over the river on Whoopup Bridge into Indian Battle park where we will have the aid station in the Elks Recreation facility. Leg 2 will have you stay near the river to Highway 3 (change from 2023) where you will connect with the old Leg 2 back to Softball Valley.

The 100km racers will complete 2 laps of the 50km course. The 100 milers will need to do their extra 11 km from the Elks picnic facility - up to the Galt on old leg 2 and then to Highway 3 where they will cross over and do leg 1 again back to the Elks. The 100 milers will then follow the regular course for their 3 laps.

100 milers will start at 8:00am Friday and the 100km racers are planned for 8:30am Friday. The 50k will start at 7:00am Saturday.
