"Dark Knight" 5k
Runners who have participated in BQuickRunning's South Hills Annual Trail Series (or "SHATS") in the past will recognize this as the night race formerly known as "Goats in the Dark"! The course is unchanged, starting at the corner of LeGrande Cannon Blvd and Silverette St, on Helena's far west side. However, the race will take place a month earlier than in past years, making for more pleasant nighttime temperatures and beautiful sunset views before full darkness descends upon the course. Headlamps are still required -- don't forget yours!
The course follows LeGrande Cannon Blvd east to Tubbs Trailhead, where runners head up the switchbacks for a fun loop on Swaney, Diretissima and Ambrose trails on Mount Helena's western flank. Runners finish the singletrack portion of the course on the Panhandle trail, which drops down to Reber Rd and back onto LeGrande Cannon Blvd for a 1/4-mile sprint back to the start/finish line.

BONUS for SHATS series finishers
Runners who complete three of the four BQR summer trail races are eligible for additional awards! The four events, known collectively as the South Hills Annual Trail Series or "SHATS," are:
(1) Thunderbolt Creek 30k or 12k on July 13, 2024 (either distance)
(2) Little Blackfoot 20k or 10k on July 27, 2024 (either distance)
(3) Dark Knight 5k on August 24, 2024
(4) Ridge Rumble 12k on Sept 8, 2024
Series prizes will be awarded following the Ridge Rumble. There is always an element of humor to the series awards... Join the fun!
