Stanky Creek Trail Race
This is a 50k/25k event and I have decided to bring this gem of a race back with a new vision. It's still going to pack a punch on the trails with potentially grueling heat that our mid-south summer weather brings, but we will have a new focus on this race. Starting this year, this event will be benefiting the Red Door Campaign at the Memphis Fire Museum. The museum needs your annual contribution to maintain the Memorial Wall, the exhibits, and other programs such as free educational tours for Shelby County Schools and preservation of timeline records for all Memphis Firefighters who have served our department. Although the Memphis Fire Department provides in-kind support such as the Fire Prevention Educators that are assigned to the museum’s fire safety program, the museum does not receive any on-going operating funds from the Fire Department, the City or Shelby County. This is my way of giving back to another amazing organization that this city has to offer.
Aid Station Information: Based on current trends, weather seems to be going in our favor, but always keep weather in mind on race day. There will be a total of 3 aid stations 1 is at Start/Finish, fully manned and fully stocked with food, water and drinks, Aid Station 2 is manned at the half-way point (4 miles) and will be stocked with limited snacks, water and Gatorade, mile 6 will have an unmanned WATER station ONLY. The mile 4 aid station will be Gatorade and Water with minimal nutrition options available and as you may remember last year we had an amazing support crew at the Start/Finish and so we will have a great spread available to all runners at the start of every loop. I have been notified some runners are vegan/vegetarian so I have decided to offer options to those individuals as well. Please don't depend strictly on my options for nutrition as each runner has their own preferences but I will try and have aid for those cravings you may not prepare for. In addition to aid stations I will not offer any cups, PLEASE bring your own hydration option and know that you will be responsible to fuel yourself.
Medals
Yes there definitely will be some medals. I know we all love to have something to show our efforts. I have designed a medal that will be something you will love to showcase!!

Course Layout
The course has been mapped out. This year the course will be run clockwise on the Blue and outer and inner white loop portion of the course. This measures out to be 8 miles each loop with approx. 500ft of elevation gain per loop. Terrain is gorgeous. Your going to be crossing over several short boardwalks and bridges and there are a couple of creek crossings. This course offers a little bit of everything. You will enjoy it.
