This Fat Ass features and out-and-back on trails varying in technicality from the Southern Terminus of the Backbone near Loveland, CO to the top of Horsetooth Mountain just west of Fort Collins. The journey between Devil's Backbone Open Space and Horsetooth Reservoir may not be the most challenging of runs, but the run to the top of Horsetooth Mountain and back will certainly give you something to think about in late February.
