COURSE DESCRIPTION

A straight out and back to the north, followed by an out and back to the south, on the Pacific Crest Trail. There is 10,000 feet of elevation climb (in the aggregate). NORTH HALF - The initial 50 miles take you north on the Pacific Crest Trail from Timothy Lake Area to Mt Hood Timberline Lodge and back on the same trail. It has a 5,200 ft climb. This stretch is 99% on the PCT, very shaded and with a few road crossings. About half the distance has roots and rocks, and the rest is fast with good footing. In 2004 the course was wheeled and is pretty darn accurate. SOUTH HALF– the next 50 miles take you south on the Pacific Crest Trail from Timothy Lake Area through the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, and back to the Timothy Lake Area. More detail will be posted at the Event webpage. http://www.pctultra.com/100/index.htm
