Cradle to Grave 30k/10k 2021

30k Race Details Start Time: 8am
Come enjoy 18.6 miles of trail running in the birthplace of modern forestry! The Cradle to Grave 30k starts and finishes at the Cradle of Forestry, located just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Sliding Rock. You will run out the lush Pink Beds trail past fields of wildflowers and beaver ponds, cross creeks on bridges and rocks, move along forest service roads in the heart of Pisgah National Forest, and climb up to one of the most non-visited and spectacular views of pristine forest land available. The return trip will utilize several different trails, each with their own unique topography, beauty, and characteristics. This race is capped at 100 participants and has a six hour time limit. All 30k participants will receive an awesome long sleeve race shirt, a custom bib and bottle opener medal! You must be registered by August 20, 2021 to be guaranteed a shirt You must be at least 15 years old to be in this event.


10k Race Details Start Time: 8:30am
The Cradle to Grave 10k starts and finishes at the Cradle of Forestry, located just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Sliding Rock. The Cradle to Grave 10k course utilizes part of the existing 30k course and will have you running the Pink Beds Loop Trail past fields of wildflowers and beaver ponds, while crossing creeks on bridges and rocks. This race is capped at 100 participants. All 10k participants will receive a quality, short sleeve race shirt and a custom bib! You must be registered by August 20, 2021 to be guaranteed a shirt.

If you chose to rollover your entry to 2021 from 2020, you will receive an email from UltraSign Up giving you a link to register for the 2021 event free of charge. If you don't see the email, please check your UltraSign Up account for your credit! Remember, we only have 200 slots per race, so register early!

6:30 am - Parking lots open, please carpool.
6:30 am – Packet Pick Up/ Registration opens
8:00 am - 30k Race Start
8:30 am - 10k Race Start
11:00 am - 10k Race Awards at the Amphitheater/Finish Line
11:30 am – 2:00 pm - after race lunch, drink, entertainment. 30k Awards at the Amphitheater/Finish Line

No Dogs are allowed on the racecourses. Race is held rain or shine.
This event is nonrefundable.

Wildlife Warning

There are wildlife dangers on this course! Rattle Snakes, Copperheads, Bear, Coyote, are all real dangers on this course. Please educate yourself on these dangers and what you should do if you encounter one of the animals.
