San Jacinto 50K

THE USFS IS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH THIS YEARS RACE PERMIT, I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED WHEN I KNOW MORE

Starting from Cowbell Alley, the first few miles will take you down dirt road and then up single track to the start of South Ridge trail. Switchback your way up the next 4 miles to the summit of Tahquitz peak. Fuel up at the aid station and make your way down through skunk cabbage meadows. Catch your breath at Saddle Junction at the next aid station and prepare to CLIMB as you make your way up to the revered San Jacinto peak. Enjoy the views as you wait for your legs to work again. From here is a steep descent down to Strawberry Junction. Fuel up again at the next aid station and make a 180 and follow the trail of tears back up to Tahquitz peak. Shed a final tear and shuffle your way back down South Ridge and a final bonus climb (you're welcome) to the finish.

Come for pain, stay for the beauty.

Course will be ~34 miles and 10,000ft of elevation gain

Cutoff is 12 hours, (Aid station cutoff times to be posted later)

Qualifier

Starting this year there will be a qualifier to enter this race. You must show me proof of either a 50k or 50 mile event that covers at least 8,000 feet of elevation gain or a 100 mile event of any elevation. I am being bombarded by emails asking if you can enter without a qualifier, the answer is... NO

Volunteer

We are in need of volunteers. This is a small-scale grassroots event with no trail access to aid stations from the road, this means all aid station supplies must be portaged up. There are a variety of roles you can play to help us make this a great day, please let me know if you can help! IF YOU PLAN ON RUNNING THE RACE, 6 HOURS OF TRAIL WORK WILL GET YOU A FREE ENTRY. Email me for details.

Course Record BOUNTY!

Want $500? Well you could do what most people do and get a job, or you can try to take down the CR and win it! All you have to do is run insanely fast, no problem right?

Update
