ULTRA CRAZY NEW YEARS RUN 2022

The 9th Annual Ultra-Crazy New Year’s Group Run

Pre-run meeting at 6:45 a.m. w/the run starting at 7:15

COVID/Social Distancing(SD): We will follow SD protocols for the race start but also offer a rolling start time for anyone wanting to start after 0715, (like last year). You can start any time after checking in with timers/lap counters.

Crab Tree Lake Visitor Center/Trail Head 2139 Old Reedy Creek Rd, Cary, NC 27513

Laps starting from Visitor Center Trail Head Parking lot, running the extended loop of the 100-mile course (not HQ spur) approx. 14-miles

Loop directions, Starting at Crab Tree Lake Visitor Center/Trail Head run Reedy Creek Trail to South Turkey Creek Trail to North Turkey Creek Trail to Graylyn Trail to Reedy Creek Trail back to Crab Tree Lake Visitor Center/Trail Head.

Run any distance you want...but there are awards for 50k and 50 miles

50k option, 2 laps plus an out and back section along Reedy Creek Trail to the 50k turn around (1.50 miles out from Visitor Center/Trail Head Parking lot)

50-Mile option, 3 laps plus an out and back section along Reedy Creek Trail to the 50-mile turn around (4 miles out from Visitor Center/Trail Head Parking lot)

Self-supported run, bring whatever you need to fuel and hydrate.

SCORING/TIMING: Run logbooks will be available to anyone wishing to partake in the awards and receive credit for being an Ultra-Crazy Runner. Each runner will get a number to begin the run and will be responsible to sign in after each lap annotating their lap completion time. To receive credit for your run and receive an award you must sign in and annotate a time for each lap. Volunteers will be on-site to help runners get signed in and out for each lap.

AWARDS: Each runner who completes, 50k or 50-mile distance will receive a custom handmade award. Provided they signed in at the beginning of the day and have completed the required distance. One award per runner.

DISCLAIMER: You are responsible for your own support and safety throughout the day. This is not a race but a group training event where we wanted to add some fun and awards for your hard work.
