RACE COURSE
This is a great single and double-track off-road running experience. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to 'ditch the city'. Nestled in the woods and along the picturesque banks of Lake Hartwell lies a true gem. A well-groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn't, the 9.65/3.2 miles will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget you're in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ' Ditch the City'.
9.65 Milers:
We'll run this course in a clockwise direction. Starting on the asphalt paved parking lot (near the start/finish) for about .25... We will immediately tap into the Sweet Single Track Trail (Headed Left with the Clockwise Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun Direction). At .35 Veer Left, at .40 Cross Over Asphalt Road onto the Paynes Creek Heartbreak Ridge Trail, at 2.75 Veer Left, at 2.80 Veer Left Staying on the Paynes Creek Main Trail. Stay on this trail all the way back to the Start / Finish Area!
