Course Overview
Welcome to the 6th Annual Bucky’s Boot Top Prohibition Trail Run, a Southern Singletrack favorite! This looped race takes place on the famous boot-shaped “Boot Top Loop”, starting on the east side of the Dowdell’s Knob overlook area.
Runners will:
Start on Pine Mountain Trail heading east toward Warm Springs. Turn left onto the Boot Top Trail, cutting back up and over Dowdell’s Knob Road. Reconnect to Pine Mountain Trail westbound, looping back to the start/finish.
This 4.3-mile loop features rocky, rooty, and rolling singletrack, with scenic highlights like waterfalls throughout the park,
wildlife sightings, a memorial rock at the 1953 plane crash site, and the iconic “Elephant Rock” before the finish line
Whether you’re running one loop or three, this race captures the heart of spring trail running in Georgia. Stick around afterward to soak in the sweeping views of “The Valley” from Dowdell’s Knob overlook — a spot so beloved, people even get married here (including one of your RDs!).

This race is capped at 75 runners and will sell out. Once it’s full, no additional spots will be released.

Each runner receives:
A race shirt
A finisher award

No transfers, refunds, or deferments allowed.
Aid Stations & Hydration
There will be two aid stations:
Boot Top Parking Lot
Dowdell’s Knob trail intersection
Each station will offer:
Water, CeraSport, Pretzels, chips, fruit chews, and/or candy.
BYO Water Bottle Required — Georgia spring can swing from chilly to hot fast. If you appear dehydrated, we will pull you from the course for safety.
Parking & Park Pass
$5 parking fee per vehicle (not included in registration)
Self-pay boxes are located throughout the park, including near the start.
Georgia Annual State Park Passes are accepted.
Carpooling strongly encouraged — parking is limited.
Awards
Overall Male and Female awards for each race distance.

Start Time: 8:00 AM EST sharp
No late starts. No exceptions.
All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on course.
This race is capped at 75 runners. If sold out, there will be no race day registration.
