Welcome to the annual fundraiser for the Malibu Search and Rescue team!! The all-volunteer team relies on private donations to support its life-saving search and rescue missions, and 100% of event proceeds go directly to the team, its equipment and its mission.
Join SoCalTrail and MSAR on the beautiful trails of Malibu Creek State Park nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains – home turf for the Malibu Search and Rescue team. Hike, run or race either the 5k or 10k distances (or 1k Run/Walk for the Kids) on fire road and single track trails. Celebrate your finish with a post-race massage and stick around for prize raffles, awards and many festival exhibitors. A variety of food trucks will be on-site as well, including plant-based options.

The Course
Know the course!! It will be marked with white directional signs and cones and event volunteers will help make sure you don't miss a turn. The 5k has 2 aid station stops; while the 10k passes the aid station 4 times.

The 5k has 2 aid stations with water and Skratch Hydration
The 10k has 4 aid station stops with water and Skratch Hydration
It is a CUPLESS race. Aid Stations will be ready to pour water or electrolyte hydration into your water bottles. Foldable, reusable race cups will be available at registration.

On-site race parking will be available for $20. Please have exact change.
FREE street parking on Mulholland and Las Virgenes just outside the park.
Please follow signs and parking team instructions in the morning.

Give back to the Santa Monica Mountains community and support the Malibu Search and Rescue Team by volunteering!! Opportunities to help are with parking, registration, post-race festival, aid stations, and pre-running or sweeping the course. All levels of experience welcome!
All volunteers get awesome race swag, meals, coffee/cocoa, massage and race to future SoCalTrail races ($15/hour and are transferrable to friends and family!)
