WHERE:Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead
– Hwy 225 – 7 miles from exit 96 off I-82 Rattlesnake Mountain Preserve Trailhead. Come early to grab a parking spot at the trailhead. Overflow parking will be on the shoulder of 225. This highway isn’t very busy but does have some traffic so be careful walking to the race start.
REGISTRATION: : $25 for 5k, $35 for 11k, $60 for 10 Mile, $90 for 6 Hour until December 31st. Price Increase January 1st - $35 for 5k, $45 for 11k, $75 for 10 Mile, $100 for 6 Hour. Pre-registration Closes Thursday February 26th. T-Shirts are included with 10 Mile pre-registration but for 6 Hour, 11k & 5k they are an additional $30 with pre-registration. 6 Hour Participants will earn a finisher race sweatshirt upon finishing the 6 Hours of running. Day of race registration(if spots still available) is $110 for 6 Hour, $70 for 10 Mile(no shirt),$45 for 11k, and $35 for 5k.
PACKET PICKUP: Packet Pickup and Day of Registration at Frost Me Sweet in Richland Washington on Friday March 6th from 3-5 PM. You can also pickup your Packet and Register Day of at the Race Start at Rattlesnake Trailhead on Saturday March 7th starting at 6:30 AM.
GEAR: Weather can be unpredictable this time of year so come prepared and ready for rain/sun/wind/or snow. This is a cupless event so bring your own water bottle.
REASON: This a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Running Series put on by Runners of the Sage www.runnersofthesage.com – with the mission to encourage more active and healthy lifestyles and its also fundraiser for the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve. Runners of the Sage has been maintaining these trails and keeping them hikeable, rideable, and runnable since 2017.
MERCHANDISE: Very comfortable Tri-Blend Bella Canvas shirts are an additional $30 with pre-registration for 6 Hour, 11k, & 5k participants. They come in unisex sizes. The 10 Mile participants shirts are included with their pre-registration. There will be other Runners of the Sage Merchandise for purchase. Bring Cash/Check/Card.
Awards & Prizes
All participants will receive a finisher glass. Awards for Overall Top 3 Male and Female.
A cash prize of $100 will be given to any new course record, 5k, 11k, and whoever sets the 10 Mile and 6 Hour Course Records as they are new to this year

Course Description
6 Hour/10 Mile/11k/5k TRAIL RUN
5K - A gentle out and back uphill and downhill trail up Aster Gully with 450 ft of gain
11k - An uphill then downhill trail loop showcasing the beauty of the Shrub Steppe and Rattlesnake Mountain(Laliik). Includes a very tough ascent and descent of Rattlesnake Arm from mile 3.75 – 4.65 which ascends 700 feet over 0.43 miles. This portion is called The Mountain Goat Challenge. 1400 total ft of climbing in this course.
10 Mile - A trail run that winds through the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve showcasing the beauty of a relatively untouched region of Shrub Steppe with amazing views of Rattlesnake Mountain(Laliik) and the Columbia River Basin. There is about 1400 ft of climbing in the course. This is a very runnable course.
6 Hour
This is the 11k Course with 6.5 Miles and 1400 ft gain each loop. Start at 6 AM with the sun and do as many loops as you can until noon. Participants must be participating in the course and finished by noon in order to earn the Laliik 6 Hour Finisher Sweatshirt. There will be one male and one female winner at the end. If participants have the same amount of loops finished, it comes down to who fnishes first on the last lap. If a participant cant finish an entire loop but still has time left before noon they can do Mini Goat Out and Backs, Half Mile Out and Half Mile Back up 200 ft. They can do this up to 5 times which equals 5 Miles. There will be an aid station at the start for participants to fuel up each loop.
