Common Q&A's

Can my child run loops as part of a team?

Absolutely! We ask that anyone under the age of 13 (unless they are part of a youth only team) run with an adult (only 1 lap counts), anyone over 16 is allowed on course solo to complete their laps.

Are you Dog Friendly?

We love dogs!! We ask that they stay in the festivities area, on leash and under control as part of your cheer squad! There will be no dogs allowed on course.

Are there Aid Stations on course?

There are no aid stations on the course, there will be water, electrolytes and food available to runners at the start/finish line but we ask that you come self contained and ready to run! If you wish to run with a hydration pack or belt, by all means! It can get hot out there mid afternoon.

I'm running the 12hr Race, do I need to run for 12?

No!! This is your race! If you need to stop and take a break, you take a break. We ask as always that you check in and out with the volunteer table so we know what lap your on, where you are on course, or if you're resting.

Are there washrooms on site?

There are washrooms and porta potties on site.

What do I do if I want to leave the race early?

We ask that you let our volunteer table know so they can note on our lap counter that you are done for the day and will not be back out on course.

How are the laps counted?

When you return from your loop you will run right up to the volunteer table where you will find your name (under your race category) there you will check beside your name and write down the time (roughly) you came in at. Either you hi-five a team mate and they head out for their loop, take a rest or perhaps your head right back out for more fun running! Always check in when a lap has been completed.

Will the race happen in all weather conditions?

You bet. Please come prepared for sun, rain, even snow! There is plenty of space in the festive area to set up a crewing space with a gazebo or tent of some sort. A spot where you, your crew and or team and spread out and get ready for a day of fun!

Are there prizes?

Always! We have draw prizes, we have best costume, best team name prizes! After the race has wrapped up we will be recognizing the Top 3 distances covered in each category.

Camping

At the moment we are investigating having a certain number of sites set aside for racers to book at the Golden Municipal Campground. More details to come.
