About Big Dog's Backyard Ultra
The third Saturday in October, 2026 will see the best backyard athletes in the world once again convening at sites around the world to throw down in the World Backyard Ultra Team Championships.
All participants will have qualified by either winning silver ticket events, or placing among the top At-Large performers in their nation over the last two years.
This will include the United States team, of the top 15 qualified American athletes, citizens or permanent residents.
The qualifying period does not end until August 15, 2026, and there are still numerous qualifying events to be held around the world between now and then.

All athletes who have qualified by winning a silver ticket will be accepted at this time.
The qualifying period will end on August 15, 2026. All the results are supposed to be turned in and entered within a week of that date, at which point the At-large list will be final, and all the qualified athletes will be accepted.
We will confirm any qualified athletes who do not apply, to determine their intentions so that we can make a place available to the next alternate in line.
As the time period for qualifying shrinks, we may make places available to At-Large athletes who have tallied a large enough number of yards that they are assured of not being "bumped" from the qualifying field. At this time we will accept applications from athletes who have equaled or exceeded 100 hours.
