It's Back!!
Here's the most important thing: it's not a real race, it's a long, drawn-out sufferfest disguised cleverly as a "group run eating mad donuts and shit" but seriously it's going to suck. These donuts are a lot of calories, so start training your gut. And that's what makes it so challenging yadda yadda yadda pssst shhhh come here shut up and listen, I'm going to whisper this: it's going to be a shit show. Have you ever run on the Berlin Turnpike? But like in a weird psychedelic sugar coma? Goes without saying but you must cover the 31.5 miles in under 7 hours (13:20 pace). Please don't sign up for "shits and giggles" and Instagram cred (secret: no one cares that you run ultras) so if you don't plan on all 31+ miles stay the F home.
Okay, that's basically the disclaimer. Our main goal is that we are trying to raise a lot of money for cancer research.

The Cause
What's good fam? Me and my dude Bill Odendahl are hosting an amazing fundraising event for the American Cancer Society and we need your support! The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
We're raising funds to to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer. We'd love your support as we bring our fundraising vision to life. Please support us today.
On a deeply personal level, both me and Billy have been affected by cancer. Bill lost his mother to cervical cancer and his brother to acute lymphoblastic leukemia; and I lost my mother to hepatocellular carcinoma of the liver. I'm sure you also know someone that has died from cancer.
This year alone, more than 600,000 Americans will die of cancer. That’s more than 1,600 people per day in the United States. That’s why, with our 1.5 million supporters, we are taking action. The money we raise through this fundraiser will help fund and provide the critical programs and services that people count on every day.
Thank you for your support! Together we can make a difference.

The Run
We start at 7 am sharp at Donut Crazy in WeHa. You eat your donut, you start running. Seriously, we are all gone from there at like 7:03 am. On to stop #2, KING Donut in Newington. Then it's on to stop #3 in Berlin, Swiches. Then it's a long way to our next stop... and that thing I said about the Berlin Turnpike? Relax, we're only on it for like a minute. Stop #4 is a fan favorite and possibly CT's best donuts, Neil's In Wallingford. You're gonna want 2. They make a Samoa one, you'll die. Then on to the place you will most likely have a meltdown, some f**king random back road in North Haven, before finishing at Whitney Donut in Hamden before 2 pm.
This is a 13:20 per mile pace that needs to be held overall. More like a 12:45 pace (about 6 hours 42 mins) and then add in 15-20 mins (more like 18) for stops.
Listen, I'm going level with you. Ultras are hard, so very hard... so I'm asking you, if you know you can't finish this, please do not sign up. I can't lower the bar for you here. Please, let someone who really wants to run and can run the whole way do this. Logistically it's a true nightmare to get you off the course somewhere and then get you back to your car. Just be a buddy here.
Come support us if you want to be a part of this race- I have volunteer opportunities. They might just be you driving around in a minivan with Bill Odendahl, but actually that sounds dope if you ask me, I'm so into that shit.

The Shuttle Bus
There is a 24 passenger bus taking us from Hamden to West Hartford. It leaves exactly at 6:15 AM from Legion Field (135 James St. Hamden CT 06518 for your Google Maps). We should arrive at Donut Crazy in WeHa like 6:50-6:55ish. You nerds can get a pic if you like, then we're eating and running!
Swag
Some handmade finisher's award, some random tchotchke and amazing memories! But this is seriously not a race. The winner will be automatically DQ'd at the finish line. I'm watching you...
