The Five Fields Farm 50k Course
This course features trails from both the Bald Pate and Holt Pond Preserves, starting and finishing at the Five Fields Farm apple orchard. Be prepared for steep climbs, technical and narrow singletrack, and long rolling terrain! This is a three lap, figure-8 course. Each lap is a little over 10 miles with 1350' of elevation gain. Course map and elevation profile located in race photos.
Note: Small segments of this course do cross private property. They have allowed us to use those sections of the trail for this race. Please treat landowners and their property with respect during the race and refrain from training on private property prior to the race.
Start at Five Fields Farm, traverse the xc ski trail that connects to the Bald Pate parking lot, head down Moose Trail until you reach Pate Trail. Take a left up Pate Trail and continue to the Bald Pate summit. Take Foster Pond Lookout Trail off of the summit and connect onto Town Farm Brook Trail. Follow Town Farm Brook until you reach Fosterville Road, take a left onto Knapp Road and connect onto Holt Pond trail. Loop Holt Pond going clockwise, using Chaplins Mill Road to connect to the other side of the pond (Southern Shore Trail). Connect back onto Knapp Road, then Fosterville Road, back to Town Farm Brook Trail. At the Town Farm Brook Trail and Five Fields Farm Trail junction, turn right onto the Five Fields Farm trail. This takes you through the apple orchard and to the finish.
