Experience the Magic of a Vermont Twilight Trail Run
As the golden hour gives way to twilight, the trails of Washington, Vermont come alive with energy, excitement, and the raw beauty of the Green Mountains. The 2nd Annual Nagdeo Lodge 15K Twilight Trail Run & Revelry is more than a race—it's an immersive experience that celebrates the joy of trail running, the camaraderie of community, and the serenity of nature under the evening sky.
Whether you're here for the challenge of rugged terrain or the promise of post-race festivities, this event is designed to delight your adventurous spirit and rejuvenate your soul.
Course Description
The race kicks off at 6:00 PM from the enchanting Nagdeo Lodge Sanctuary, a retreat nestled on 14 wooded acres in the heart of Vermont. As runners make their way onto the trail, they’ll encounter a variety of terrain that showcases the region’s natural diversity—dirt byways, tall grassy meadows, overgrown paths, and meandering horse trails.
The course winds through the scenic wilderness with undulating elevation and stretches that invite deep connection with nature. But don’t be fooled by the peaceful twilight setting—this course packs a punch. The final two miles present a challenging uphill finish that will test your mettle and reward your perseverance with stunning views and a triumphant return.
Aid Stations and Course Support
A single unmanned aid station will greet runners around the halfway point, stocked with ice chests, water, and electrolyte drinks. While not mandatory, runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration systems for optimal comfort and preparedness. Porta-potties will be available at the start area.
Post-Race Revelry: Food, Fire, and Festivities
Once you've conquered the 15K trail, the real celebration begins. Settle in for a hearty buffet dinner from 8:00–9:00 PM, featuring local BBQ and pizza from Montpelier’s famed Wood Belly. Each runner receives one complimentary beer, with additional beverages available for purchase.
Enjoy live music, gather around a communal bonfire, and maybe even take a refreshing cold plunge. This is your chance to relax, refuel, and revel in the company of fellow trail runners under the starry Vermont sky.
