In the late 1880s Butte boomed as a copper mining town, it was once called The Richest Hill on Earth. The most successful mine owners were known as the Copper Kings.  


The Copper Kings 100 is a 100 mile single loop course starts and ends at the Belmont Mine in Butte and includes 63 miles of the wonderful Continental Divide Trail. The elevation at the start is 5,650 ft, the highest point is at 8,400 feet, and you will enjoy a total of near1y 4,400 feet of vertical gain and loss.


  • Bib pickup is 2:00pm Thursday June 24, 2027
  • Run starts at 4:00am Friday June 25, 2027

  • Final cutoff 8:00pm Saturday June 26, 2027

  • 40-hour cutoff
