Welcome.
Hello March!!! Welcome to our Spring canicross event offered to you by TYDISH Running and hosted at Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures. The grounds host over 12 miles of single track trails that are wooded and wonderful! They are also shared with mountain bikers, so please yield accordingly and be sure to follow directional signs posted. The trails welcome beginners to experts and they are looking forward to have some feet and paws play on them this Sunday morning.
Find us at N3232 Co Trunk H in Lake Geneva, WI.
Course and options.
You’ll have two distance options to choose from. The 4 mile loop has 463 feet of vertical gain and 479 feet of loss. It features rolling and winding single track trails, but overall not too challenging. Decide to do the 4 mile loop once or twice for our 8 option.
The mass start at 9am starts up a gravel service road that leads into the trails. The course will be marked by yellow utility ground flags for you to follow around the grounds until you end up back in the lot where you started. Cut off times are 10:30am for the 4 mile and 11:45am for the 8 mile option.
We do not have exclusive use of these trails, with that please be respectful of others out there either on foot or by mountain bike.
Canicross rules.
The sport is dog powered. A technically “hands free” set up with your buddy who’s out in front of you on a non restrictive “Y” type harness. This is either attached via bungee line to their human also wearing a harness, or by a leash that’s handheld by the handler.
Off leash is NOT an option. Nor are metal choke collars or “gentle leader” face harnesses for the dog.
You know your dog best and we are out for comfort and safety during the miles.
Order of events and awards.
Check in will only be offered morning of the event. RACE DAY SIGNUP IS NOT AVAILABLE.
We’ll start checking in athletes and checking your canicross gear at 7:45am. You’ll pick up your bib and race swag along with being able to buy other merch offered as well. We have an area inside of the main building reserved for us and places where you or crew can relax and wait indoors as well. Full restrooms are available and open to us and the public.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed in the building at any time.
Podium awards will be offered to the top 3 women and men teams for each distance. A formal ceremony won’t be had, just awarded as they finish.
Each participant will get a finishers gift/token of sorts upon completion of their registered event.
Both events start promptly at 9am.
Aid station.
At the start and finish line we will have water available along with an electrolyte drink for athletes to refill from. This is a CUPLESS EVENT meaning no single serve disposal little cops will be pre poured and on a table waiting to be grabbed.
You are expected to carry your own hydration vessel that we will happily refill as needed. Water bowls for dogs will also be available in this area as well.
There is no aid of drink, eats or restroom out on the course. These amenities are only at the start/finish area.
Afterwards we’ll have warm eats, drinks and little snacks awaiting to refill you up after your hardwork on the trails. This will be inside in the main building so please relax by the fireplace and chat with others about your day.
