Race Details

The Uwharrie Gold Rush, held in conjunction with the Uwharrie 100, will be held on October 19, 2024 in the Uwharrie National Forest. This 50K race is held on a 20.5 mile figure 8 loop consisting of technical trails filled with roots and rocks covered by a lush forest canopy. Uwharrie Gold Rush Runners will complete the southern portion of the figure 8 loop first (11.5 miles) and then will finish with a complete loop of the figure 8 course (20.5 miles) to finish their event. Pacers will NOT be allowed for the Uwharrie Gold Rush.

The registration limit for this event will be 50 total runners in the Uwharrie Gold Rush.

Due to the high technicality of the course, there will be a 12 hour cut off (8:00pm) for the Uwharrie Gold Rush.

Runners must register by September 15th to be guaranteed their shirt size. We will do our best to get runners who register after that date the shirt size of their choosing but we will not be able to guarantee it due to us having to place the shirt order by that date in order to have them by race day.

REFUND POLICY **PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING**

50% refunds will be issued until MAY 31st, 2024 for any registered entrant who requests to withdraw. No full refunds or bib transfers will be offered.

***There are significant up front costs to putting on a race of this size, and many of those expenses occur months in advance of race day. Thank you for understanding.

DEFERMENTS

Deferments will be considered on a case-by-case basis until October 1, 2024.

NO DEFERMENTS will be considered after that date. If you have a request to defer PRIOR to October 1, 2024, please send an email to UwharrieUltras@gmail.com.

If granted a deferment you are allowed a SINGLE deferment; meaning you may roll over your registration one time to the following year. Multiple deferments will not be honored.

In the event of an unforeseen life circumstance such as; pregnancy, postpartum, death of a family member, military duty/deployment; 100% credit towards 2025 race will be applied. Each situation will be reviewed individually.

RUNNERS UNDER 18

IF ATHLETE IS UNDER AGE 18 on the date of the Event:

The athlete must have parental consent provided on UltraSignup. This certifies that the athlete has permission to participate in the Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run. The parent’s signature certifies they have read the RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT (on UltraSignup) and by signing intentionally and voluntarily agrees to its terms and conditions. The signature further certifies that their son/daughter is in good physical condition and is able to safely participate in the Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run. They also authorize medical treatment for their son/daughter and grant access to their child’s medical records if necessary.

Due to the demanding nature of the Event, NO MINOR UNDER 16 YEARS of age (as of the date of the Event) will be allowed to participate in the 100 mile, 100K or 50K events.

TRANSGENDER ATHLETES

Uwharrie 100 will accept any athlete’s declared gender upon registration. Any challenge to an athlete’s declared gender must occur after the event and in writing to uwharrieultras@gmail.com. The race directors will assess any challenge privately.
