Race Logistics

The Tennessee Mile is a looped race with runners responsible for tracking their loops. There is not a time limit on your loop. Log as many or as few loops as you like. If you are a Race Director, please contact us before registering. We have a special discount code for you to show our appreciation for what you bring to the community.

Training Plans Available & Gear Rental

Training plans are available for purchase by our Mother of The Murder Mile BMFJ herself.

We also offer camping gear and tent rentals for you convenience.

Please send us an email or reachout at www.bmfjevents.com

Aid & Crew

Runners can accept crew and aid anywhere on this course. Runners are required to bring their own setup for this event. The large tents will not be available like at Mid-State. We may put up a couple but plan on relying on you and your friends to create your setup.

Camping is allowed in the big field. Camping tents (requiring strings and stakes) are not permitted in the start/finish area. Crews are allowed to provide their own pop-up canopy-style tent to use for their runner at the start/finish. Crews can set up anywhere within this crew area and provide aid to their runner.

All runners MUST provide their own aid. We will have water and electrolytes, but all nutrition must be provided by individuals.

House Rules

VERY IMPORTANT: Absolutely no pets. There are already pets that call this place home, and while we love our furry friends we do not want to disturb and upset the current residents. If you bring a furry sidekick, you will be asked to take them back to their home. Additionally, runners are not permitted in the house or on the porch. Finally, you will notice there are hunting stands on the property. For safety reasons, those are off limits as well.

Please bring your family, friends, a can-do attitude, and smiles.

The Toughest Little Mile in Tennessee

The Tennessee Mile will take place on the hallowed ground known as The Murder Mile, home to the instant classic, the Mid-State Mile. The race will feature a variety of timed divisions. Unlike MSM, you are not limited by timed loops. Instead, your task is to complete as many loops as you can (or want to) within the allotted total time.

The course is housed on private land just 20 minutes from downtown Franklin, TN. It boasts a 1.1 mile loop with 340 feet of elevation gain. You’ll encounter two monster climbs with fast, runnable sections between them and a downhill section through the field to the start/finish area. The course itself is an old logging road so it features a nice, wide double track trail. Rest assured, we’ll clean up the course real good before race day. We like pretty things.

Refund Policy

Important note: There will be absolutely no refunds or deferrals given.

Please know when you register for this event, you are donating to covering the costs of bringing all of our trail lovers together. The event is hosted on private land so we will not be relying on Forestry Services or state parks to give us the go-ahead.

Now, more than ever, it is important that we support each other as humans and as a community celebrate being out in the woods. We want to bring everyone together with a fun and unique experience all can enjoy. Please know your entry fee is being donated to the human experience and giving those we call friends the gift of a good day in the woods.

If there are proceeds will be donated to helping the Jones family to improve and maintain the property so they can keep you coming back year after year.
